a/n: i remembered how much i loved tsukki also idk receiving hair clips from someone sounds sweet
the hair clip would suit you, tsukishima knew that for a fact. it was lilac in color with white daisy designs. it would match the earrings that you just bought and tsukishima actually paid attention to the way you’d fix and style your hair in the bus window to school. the thought of you wearing it clipped right near your ear made his lips curve up in a smile.
“tsukki! sorry, i finally bought something,” yamaguchi suddenly showed up. tsukishima instantly righted himself and tried to make it seem as if he wasn’t staring intently at the display of hair clips for the past few minutes. yamaguchi was the entire reason why they were in that shop since he was looking for a present for yachi.
“hmm? were you looking at something?” he asked.
“nothing. should we head out?” tsukishima replied a bit too quickly. of course his best friend would catch on.
“ahhh, something for y/n huh?” yamaguchi grinned, elbowing him in the side. he had grown cheekier ever since you and tsukishima got together. just when he thought it couldn’t get any worse, one of the salesladies approached.
“oh? are you interested in something sir?” she asked. tsukishima felt the tips of his ears burn at the confrontation before realizing that even if yamaguchi and the saleslady didn’t goad him, he’d probably purchase the hair clip.
“this one,” tsukishima pointed at the one he’d been eyeing for a while. “could i get this one, please?”
…
“ugh, one more paragraph, one more!” tsukishima heard you whisper to yourself for the fifth time in the past few minutes. the two of you were at your usual spot in the library, laptops back to back as you both worked.
“just waiting on you now,” tsukishima teased softly and snickered at the frown on your face.
“five more minutes!”
“relax, it’s still pretty early. we’ve got time before the cafe fills up.” tsukishima studied the tired expression on your face and gently pushed your laptop screen down. “take two minutes off.”
“alright,” you sighed, rubbing your eyes and pushing hair away from your face. tsukishima thought about the hair clip he had bought a week ago in the pocket of his bag. buying it was one thing but somehow he couldn’t find the opportunity to actually give it to you.
tsukishima tapped a finger on his knee once, twice, before finally reaching into his bag and taking out the hairclip to place right next to your hand. he watched you blink in surprise at first before smiling and picking up the hairclip.
“tsukki, did you get this for me?” you gushed. seeing how pleased you were made tsukishima’s lips twitch.
“just found it somewhere,” he mumbled, returning to his laptop but glancing up to watch you place the clip near your ear, just how he imagined.
“cute right?” you grinned at him. tsukishima decided to indulge you by nodding and smiling.
“yeah. cute.”
“let’s take a picture together!” you suggested, pulling out your phone.
“ah, ah, ah. last paragraph,” tsukishima smirked, tapping your laptop. you pouted.
“and then a selfie?”
tsukishima decided to indulge you once more. after all, he’s done this much. and besides, he could use a new phone wallpaper.
